On Tuesday the 29th November, Land Rover Cape Town were honoured to have the man himself, Mr Kingsley Holgate come through to share some of his amazing stories with us. We would like to thank Kingsley and his team for making this possible and we would like to thank all of our guests for coming through to share the evening with us.
Kingsley Holgate is a man that needs no introduction. But for those whom are not familiar with the name, here is a bit of info on the man behind the very impressive beard.
Kingsley Holgate is a South African explorer, humanitarian and author. A fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has been described by Getaway Magazine as “the most travelled man in Africa” and has modelled himself on David Livingstone. Kingsley has also written several books on his expeditions and has fronted several National Geographic documentaries.
Kingsley along with his team at the Kingsley Holgate Foundation aim to save and improve lives through adventure. Proudly sponsored by Land Rover, the team travel through some of the most hostile counties to implement numerous programmes such as the ‘One Net, One Life’ campaign which aims to give out thousands of mosquito nets to help prevent malaria. Another campaign, the ‘Right to Sight’ campaign provides glasses which allows the hard of sight to resume daily tasks such as sewing, reading and beadwork which helps them contribute to their community.
Kingsley and his team have gone Above And Beyond to save and improve lives through adventure and Land Rover is proud to support such and amazing foundation.
Land Rover Cape Town would like to thank the Kingsley Foundation for all of their hard work and we wish you all the best for all of your upcoming adventures. Thank you for making this world a better place.
Safe travels friends.
